I see a lot of software that's priced at about $1000. Stuff like photoshop (formerly at least), hex-rays[1], ICC[2]. Who is the target audience for these products? Individuals/enthusiasts will be hard-pressed to come up with the money, while large companies will be able to afford it and could even buy 10 or 20 without a second thought.
